Ha Long’s weather has two distinct seasons: summer from April to October, attracting domestic tourists, and winter from

April to October is summertime on Cong Do Island. The tropical climate can make it hot and uncomfortable. This attracts many Vietnamese tourists seeking to swim and relax. – November to March: This winter season typically attracts more international tourists, as the weather is cooler and domestic tourist numbers are lower. Consequently, international visitors often choose to explore Ha Long Bay during this time.


How to Get to Cong Do Island

Cong Do Island is about 23 km from Tuan Chau Port. A boat ride of roughly 2 hours and 45 minutes. It’s part of tour route No. 4, so visitors can buy tickets and rent a boat to get there. Route 4 also includes attractions like Vung Vieng fishing village, Hang Co (Thien Canh Son), and Hang Thay.

However, few sightseeing boats operate on route 4. Most are overnight cruise ships on 2-day/1-night or 3-day/2-night Ha Long tours. Alternatively, groups of about 20 can rent a private boat and buy route 4 tickets. Private boat rentals start around 5 million VND, depending on quality (3-5 stars) and services.
